1. Connectivity is dreadful.
2. Backs Up some files.
3. No features such as searching or sorting ... on the Android App,
I have consigned my Lima to act simply as a paperweight. It is good for small stacks of paper. It is totally useless as an electronic device. It is totally useless as a backup system or a "personal cloud."
I'm also unimpressed. I'll give the Lima people until early next year - that's a year since I've had the device. If they haven't got things sorted out by then - good software for real world usage - then I'm binning it - a waste of money. The paperweight idea is interesting......
Complètement d'accord, ça paraît bien sur la video de présentation, mais c'est complètement à l'utilisation
Je déconseille vivement
I was wondering how many users had the same experience. The designers put a lot of work in the hardware and the presentation. But its a total waste when there is dreadful, buggy software to support it. There are so many, many things that don't work and the the design is so terrible. Do these folks not understand that the once they get a lot of bad reviews the product is DEAD. I am so disappointed.
Lima constantly disconnects making it virtually useless. When is this going to be resolved?
I'm going to disconnect the Lima device and put it in the pile of useless and used up electronics to be taken to the recycler. I've had it with this thing.
Received a Lima Ultra last week -- app will not install. I get a "There is a problem with the Lima App" error message. I noticed others had similar issues (with an "L" drive conflict). Not relevant for me.
Still no response from customer service (I did get an automated reply to my e-mail query with a bunch of useless links).
Anybody home at Lima customer service? Apparently not.
We have multiple Windows 10 computer systems at home. The desktop gives me the "L" drive conflict and will not connect.
I rebooted it, reinstalled the Lima software - no joy.
None of the Software is good as far as I see. The Android App, as others have described, is dreadful. So few features, and they too are buggy.
They really should have thought this out before selling the hardware.
The L drive conflict is resolvable and there is information about it in their help center; that part works.
However I would not waste my time on it... the device just does not work as it is supposed to. They are obviously not ready for selling prime time yet. As I said earlier, great idea if it would work, but it just does not work.
Steve (and Alansir): Thanks!
Have either of you ever gotten a personal response from customer service?
Steve: I wasn't clear (sorry). I don't have an "L" drive conflict -- must be something else. This is one issue with a helpful FAQ.
To be honest when there are so many issues with the software product one is at a loss where to start. I purchased the ULTRA for $130.00 including shipping. It took over 4 weeks to be delivered after being charged to my Paypal.
I wonder what the return policy is.
I all definitely going to contact Paypal to see what can be done.
When I first had issues with it they did respond to my emails; their "fix" was to reformat the drive on my computer, uninstall and reinstall Lima app. I ended up doing this twice; then I was able to see the drive. However it would not synchronize between computers (i.e. on one computer it would show there is 200 GB of data on the drive; on another computer it would show there was 300 GB on the drive). It seems as if it began to upload to the drive and then just stopped.
The way it seems to work is that if you are backing up from computer X to the Lima, which is in a location with computer Y, first all your files are copied to the c:\users\your user\app data\roaming\Lima on computer X (as I recall; I uninstalled it all from my PC because I have given up but I think that was the path). Then, over time, it uploads from that local folder to the USB HDD in location Y. Depending upon your settings (whether you want to keep a local copy), it may then delete the files from c:\users\your user\app data\roaming\Lima on computer X once they are uploaded to the USB HDD in location Y. The problem is that the upload is completely unreliable. I waited days, and it would just not upload. So finally I gave up, uninstalled all the apps, and have a new paperweight.
You are certainly more helpful and responsive than Lima's customer service! I'm not ready to use it as a paperweight yet, but getting closer.
I can't even get the Software to install.
