HDD > It seems that my Lima Ultra doesn't provide enough power to turn on my hard drive.

My Seagate Expansion+ 500GB hard drive keeps beeping with the Lima Ultra. It seems that Lima Ultra doesn't provide enough power to turn it on.

This is the first time I will use my Lima, but that happens when I connect my Lima device to my Seagate drive. The drive is empty and formatted in NTFS (1 partition) and works perfectly when I plug it into my computer, also the drive meets the requirements

of Lima.

I have the same problem. My lima can't run my Seagate Hard Drive.

¿What can we do @MeetLima ?

Hi Abel,

Thanks for asking.

Have you checked the tech specs of the hard drives that are compatible with Lima? We didn't test all the hard drives that currently exist but still, the most common ones work with Lima. However, we are researching further to be able to name which ones work and which ones doesn't.

What is your model?

Cheers!

I am using the Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim 2TB Portable External Hard Drive, and it keeps beeping as well. I have a feeling, like the rest, that the Lima Ultra is unable to fully power the hard drive. Please advise, thank you.

I have the same problem with a new Seagate 1.5 TB expansion HD that is not powered up and recognized by Lima

The info on your website states :

Lima supports all USB mass storage external hard drives and storage bays which don't need a specific driver installation.
For hard drives up to 2 TB, it doesn't matter. If you get one that is not powered, Lima will power it for you.
This Seagate HD meets all the necessary specs, I have erased and reformated it, etc. but no power through lima :-(

I had to buy an additional external USB hub power adaptor just to use my HD. The Lima works, and it works well, and I'm glad for that, but this power issue is really lame.
