Lima Preferences on MacOS

There was a similar question about a year ago with a nonsensical answer, so I ask again.

I installed the Lima software on MacOS Sierra. When I click on the Lima icon all that happens is that Finder opens and shows me the file folders. Lima doesn't even open and leave an icon on the status bar. There is no way to access the Lima dashboard. I am at a complete loss as to how to proceed from this point. I uninstalled Lima and reinstalled, thinking that I had made a mistake the first time. I get the same results.

Advice welcome.

I see the Lima icon in Finder but mine does not do anything.
